| I caught the new Knight Rider series tonight. I didn't see the movie during the summer, but I figured I didn't miss all that much, and I didn't. I wanted to like the show, I really did. But I just can't. The girl Sarah is hot, but her character is lame. She's on the whole K.I.T.T. team as an agent but she still has to be the wussy love interest. The guy playing the "new" Michael Knight is lame. When you have both actors coming from soap operas, that tells you something right there. The car is kinda cool even though it's not the same type of car (blame ford for putting in the money for product placement), the whole transforming thing is cheezy in it takes straight from tranformers, but it was stupid when K.I.T.T. was a pickup, the 2 stars jumped in the pickup bed, and trasformed back to normal and they were in the front seat. And the asian girl's character is supposed to be ditzy, yet smart, but is just flat out annoying with her Dawson's Creek quick dialogue, and picking on the other guy who plays already seen nerdy/inept, but supposed to supply the comedy one liner guy. Sidney Poiter's daughter is miscast as the federal agent leader. Nobody that young would be leading an FBI team, never mind she's an african american female, not trying to be racist, it's just not likely. All of the secrets behind the Michael Knight character and the uberleader guy (who was awesome in the miniseries Kingpin, they should have turned that into a series) are forced. Val Kilmer can't pick better projects than this??? I do like the new show Fringe. I didn't like the pilot all that much, but I thought I'd give it another shot and it's very entertaining. It's got part CSI, part X-Files, and Lost twists. The guy playing the brilliant old scientist dude is freakin' nuts, but I love that about him! Joshua Jackson seems like a good pick for a J.J. Abrams project. I'm not completely sold on the gal playing Agent Dunham. Angie Harmon would've been great, but with Women's Murder Club flopping, she probably didn't want to do another cop role. That show needed better writers, 'cause the books were awesome! I watched parts of True Blood on HBO, but I couldn't finish the pilot. It wasn't what I expected, and with the Anna Paquin's character name being Sookie, I couldn't stand it. I thought it would be darker, but with her country accent, I got annoyed. My Own Worst Enemy looks decent, but doesn't start till later. | | |

| My sister gave birth on Saturday morning at 3:24 a.m. He is 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and 20 inches long. He is so cute! She went into labor Friday afternoon around five, so yeah, we were at the hospital for quite some time. They are doing well, and will go home on Monday. Since my mom wasn't in the room during delivery, she was chomping at the bit when the time came. Chris's mom, my dad and I were out in the waiting room watching tv, but she was right near the door and saying did you hear that? Finally when he arrived, we heard him crying, and she was practically breaking down the door to go in. I was like "Mom, calm down, you'll get your chance!!!! Even when we did get a chance to go in the room and see them, Chris and the doctor told us to not stay long, that everybody needed their rest. My sister looked exhausted, but very very happy. Both grandmothers held the baby, my sister's best friend Kimmi who was in the room during delivery also held the baby, but my dad and I did not. I'll get a chance to hold him and all that, but I was just happy for Jennifer and Chris. I wanted to give them their time to soak in the moment, because this really was about them, not us. I was begging my mom for us to leave. She thought it was because I was grumpy and tired, which was not the case. I just didn't feel comfortable being in the room too long taking the time away from them. Watching my sister hold and kiss the baby as a mother for the first time is something that I will always remember. | | |
| Yeah, my last couple blogs were some stupid rants, so here's one about reflection and perspective. I moved back home with my parents about six weeks ago. I got "the boot" from my place downtown 'cause my roomy Jerry got married (nice ceremony by the way) and the place is a bit smallish for 3 people. I understood, they want to start their life together, and who wants a 3rd wheel? I really liked living there and I was pretty bummed to leave. Great location, I never had any problems there whatsoever, and Jerry was a cool roomate to have. We never got in one argument, but then again, we hardly saw each other since he was busy with school and CAT and the wedding plans. I was looking to buy a place, but I never really made the decision on where I wanted to sink my roots yet, so luckily, my parents let me come back. My parents did some major remodeling to the house, so it's surreal to be back in my "old" room, but there's new carpet, new paint, new bathrooms, new kitchen, new shutters (no more neon green blinds that I grew up with), and such. I am really lucky to have this, and it's made me realize (again) how great of a childhood I had, and how awesome my parents are. They give me all of the freedom in the world (as they should, being a grown ass 31 year old man), but it's pretty cool that they still treat me like I never left the nest. There's always food on the table, someone is almost always home (that's good and bad), and I can talk to my parents about pretty much anything, and not everybody has that. I was most worried about my dad, 'cause he was really getting on my nerves when I was living here, but things have been pretty cool. My sister and brother-in-law are expecting their first child any day now since her due date is June 6th. They will name him Daniel after my dad. I remember when she first called me and told me the news. She was happy, excited, and nervous all at once. Now, every time I look at my phone and see her phone number, I freak out thinking that she's going into labor. This is an exciting time for us as a family. My sis and bro will be great parents, and he will have lots of love and support to no end. I hope he has just as great of a childhood as my sister and I had. Everybody asks me what I think about becoming an uncle, and that I'll spoil him. But I tell them I haven't really thought much about it yet. Sure, I'm proud to be an uncle. But I almost feel cheated. He hasn't been born yet and he's already spoiled. His room is filled with so much stuff they don't know where to put it all! | | |
| I know I don't blog a lot, and my last blog was some stupid venting I had. I'm really not mad all of the time, or go look for things that piss me off. I'm a happy person, I really am. But I'm going to add another venting moment, and it will be short - ANOTHER REASON WHY I HATE A LOT OF THE HIP HOP THAT IS OUT NOW!!!! Tippy Toes!!!! <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Yhg4UtDycLM&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Yhg4UtDycLM&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> I was channel surfing the other day, and I found this on 106 and Park's top videos. COME ON - TIPPY TOES????!!! I'm not the only one that thinks this absolutely stinks. The comments on youtube are on both ends. It's the hottest song in the south, and yet others are saying who are the dumbasses that let these guys in the studio. The next thing you see, will be somebody will turn some other kiddie thing into a dumb song and dance lik hop scotch, chutes 'n ladders, or hide 'n go seek. You heard it here first, the next big hip hop hit in the summer of 2008 - FREEZE TAG! AAAAAWW YEEAH, YOU KNOW THAT'S HOT! Freeze Tag in the summa tiiiiime! I SAID FREEEEEZE, GGG-UNIT! | | |
